Beverly M. Simmons, PhD, LCSW is a clinical social worker in practice in Raleigh, NC. She completed her undergraduate and Master's level education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her PhD at the Smith College School for Social Work. She has been in private practice serving adolescents and adults for the past 12 years. She practices from an integrative perspective that includes traditional and modern psychoanalytic theories, contemporary neuroscience and the role of the body in understanding individual experience. In addition to teaching with the PECC, Dr. Simmons has served as adjunct faculty and research adviser for the Master of Social Work program at Smith College School for Social Work. She has published multiple articles in the Smith College Studies in Social Work.  Beverly frequently integrates EMDR and mindfulness meditation into her clinical practice.
