The PCC is now taking applications for the 2020-2021 Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training and Psychoanalysis Training programs. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 1, 2020. Click for details.
As both a clinical method of treating emotional disorders and a psychological theory that illuminates all aspects of human motivation, behavior, development and relationships, contemporary psychoanalysis has a wide range of applications. With a specialty in addition to clinical practice, analysts can successfully provide insight, understanding and perspectives to their patients and the general public in a variety of ways. Psychoanalytic training is also invaluable to many individuals in non-clinical, academic fields who incorporate the theory into their work.
To facilitate each student’s professional and personal growth, both tracks offer students a comprehensive training experience, which includes:
- Coursework in theory and technique
- Supervised clinical work
- Personal treatment
Courses are offered in the evening, and the program can be completed on a flexible, individualized schedule, allowing students to participate on a part-time basis and at the pacing that best suits their needs.
