Laurie Pahel, MD has been in private practice serving adults for over twelve years. She is a graduate of and now an adjunct faculty member of UNC Psychiatry Department, supervising residents in their psychotherapy work. She is a graduate of the UNC-Duke Psychoanalytic Education Program, which is now the psychoanalysis training program of the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (PCC). She recently earned the privilege of becoming a Training and Supervising Analyst for psychoanalytic candidates in PCC. As a faculty member of PCC, she also supervises psychoanalytic psychotherapy trainees, and she teaches classes in the core and advanced curriculum. Dr. Pahel participates on PCC committees with the intention of helping to support student education and professional development in psychoanalytically informed careers.
